Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and assisting with scientific research. Your expertise in laboratory information management systems, quality control, and veterinary terminology will be essential in ensuring accurate, reliable, and repeatable results.
Duties:
- Perform laboratory tests and experiments according to established procedures and protocols
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various samples
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of test results and findings
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to good laboratory practices (GLP)
- Assist in the development of new research methodologies and techniques
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy and precision of results
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in laboratory techniques and technologies
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, microbiology) is a plus but not required.
- Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory or research environment is a plus
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for data entry and analysis
- Strong knowledge of quality control principles and practices
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Experience in scientific research is preferred
