WHAT TO EXPECT

Gates Global Marketing is searching for an ambitious, forward-thinking, and open-minded Technical Copywriting Specialist to join our global team in our downtown Denver or Rochester Hills, MI location!

As the Global Marketing Technical Copywriting Specialist, you will work collaboratively with Gates teams around the world to develop and implement company-wide marketing communication strategies. As a detail-oriented, experienced, and resourceful editor and writer, you are accustomed to working with minimal supervision, and you aren't afraid to have an opinion. Through your writing, you will authentically connect Gates to our most important customers, prospects, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Create compelling copy that engages, inspires, and converts
knowledge in technical, automotive, or industrial copy writing
Research, write, edit, and integrate content into various marketing mediums
Write and edit content for high impact initiatives
Create content that describes our products and solutions in an accurate, engaging technical manner and, which highlights our expertise in solving the target audience(s) problems
Write Web Copy to help improve SEO rankings
Participate in the addition of new products and solutions to the website and other marketing mediums
Contribute to content posted on social media
Ensure correct and consistent use of Gates style, branding, service/product naming conventions, and legal and messaging requirements
Collaborate with content managers, content creators, and vendors
Manage all aspects of the editorial process on individual editing assignments
Lead strategic editorial projects and initiatives as needed

ABOUT YOU:

Minimum of 3-5 years' professional editorial experience (writing, editing, and proofreading)
Experience in technical, automotive, or industrial copy writing
Good understanding of SEO/SEM principles
Proven experience creating high-converting copy for web, emails, digital and social advertising
Highly proficient in translating complex ideas and technical and marketing speak into simple prose that anyone could understand
Ability to focus on the needs of the target audiences. Can easily understand what users want, and craft copy that persuades by showing how the product or service meets their needs
Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. You can convince internal clients to expand beyond their comfort zone but are also empathetic and pragmatic in deciding where you should push back.
Strong project management skills with diverse communications experience (i.e., content planning/development, digital development, print material design and production, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft® Office applications and related business and communication tools, including knowledge of Adobe® Acrobat, Photoshop, and InDesign
Knowledge of content management systems, and tracking KPIs a plus
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications, or related field
