WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Gates Corporation is looking for a Corporate Director of Global Distribution, located in our Denver, CO office.
As a key member of the corporate Supply Chain management team, the Director will report directly to the Sr. Corporate Director of Global Logistics and will provide strategic leadership for optimizing the Gates distribution network including geographical location for DC's, process development and enabling systems used within Gates worldwide distribution network.
This position will be responsible for analyzing and understanding optimum locations for Gates Warehouses worldwide and provide direction on global processes and tools used in Gates Distribution centers located in the Americas, EMEA, Asia including Australia, India as well as China.
This position will be responsible for developing the strategic roadmap for optimizing the Distribution network, standardization of the best-in-class processes, the introduction of new processes where appropriate, and drive automation and standardization of tools facilitating future growth for the organization. The position will provide oversight to all distribution centers with a high focus on operational cost, inventory management and quality of service to Gates worldwide customers.


Key responsibilities:

  • Assists and provides critical inputs and perspectives for the strategic direction of the DC Network to meet the corporations short- and long-term objectives
  • Develop long-term plan for warehouse capacity, including identification of new facilities to meet the needs of the business
  • Be accountable for the Gates warehouse design, fit out, technology, digital, material handling & automation strategies. The strategies will include targeted solutions, business cases & realization plans for multiple warehouse types
  • Collaborate with regional teams to identify opportunities to improve warehouse performance and cost through optimizing lay out, equipment, racking, PIV and enabling IT as well as defining innovative solutions
  • Play a central role in best-practice sharing across the entire Gates distribution center network
  • Keep current on industry trends, technology, and market offerings, understanding impacts on operations and strategic development
  • Utilize data-driven, structured problem-solving tools, including Lean principles to improve process capability, reduce variation and optimize performance
  • Builds strong alliances up, down, across and outside the organization that will enable an industry-leading transformation resulting in a critical strategic advantage to the company
  • Develop and maintain accurate Inventory Management processes
  • Constantly Evaluate global supply chain network - suppliers, manufacturing facilities, customer locations. Ensure physical network aligns to transportation strategy optimized to deliver required service levels at lowest cost
  • Evaluates and adapts both the short and long-term operating plans to support the company's growth, creating a roadmap of processes, capital improvements and real estate requirements with supporting ROI that enable and scale the strategy
  • Design, generate and analyze reports and KPIs to improve operations and facilitate informed business decision making

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics or other relevant area
  • Requires 10 years of specific experience
    • Must have extensive distribution experience, most of which was acquired within a LEAN operating environment
  • Focused Model Based Engineering to fully explore and understand opportunities within the Gates physical supply chain - understand digital twin techniques and persistent vs static modeling
  • Has a proven track record and demonstrated ability to think strategically then translate strategic vision into tactical action plans that result in delivered business results
  • Experience and competence managing large and complex projects using best in class methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with Distribution operations management and process improvement
  • Is globally adaptable to allow for quickly changing business needs in a global environment
  • Must be analytical and a good problem solver under high pressure situations
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possesses a subject matter maturity that sets the expectation of communicating in a clear, concise, open, and transparent manner inside and outside of the company
  • Demonstrated ability to drive personal performance and achieve results
  • Strong financial discipline, business acumen and organizational abilities
  • Intermediate level user on Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • In order to provide the appropriate support, there will be 25%-40% travel, including international locations
  • Ability influence without having direct authority of reports
  • Excited to work in the office with great teammates
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.


PAY & BENEFITS

  • Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $155,000 - $180,000
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Relocation is provided
