We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our team in the role of Answering Service Representative. As a key member of our healthcare practice, you will play a vital role in managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and providing essential information to patients.

Job Description

The Medical Assistant will further make Gastrointestinal and Liver Consultants a stronger company to provide the best patient care for our patients. Our company is well known and well thought of by medical offices and the community at large, so we look to further expand on this. The job entails:

• Answer incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
• Schedule and reschedule patient appointments using our (EHR) gGastro
• Communicate effectively with patients, relaying information on test results, follow-up/procedure instructions, and other non-emergency matters.
• Document all relevant information accurately in the EHR system.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to relay messages and facilitate communication.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Education

Requires a minimum of a Medical Assistant Certification.

The candidate must have:

• Excellent communication skills
• Previous experience in a medical answering service role is a plus.
• Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and phone systems.
• Customer Service
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Computer Savvy and Proficient in using Office 365 and its pertaining components (Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Etc.)
• Ability to use gGastro or have experience in using electronic medical records
• Good organizational skills and strong problem-solving abilities
• Able to take the initiative and comfortable working individually
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates preferred

Experience:

• Relevant: 1-2 years ( GI Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
