Job Overview:

Our construction company and architecture firm is seeking an organized problem-solver to join our team as our construction and architect firm bookkeeper. Our ideal candidate is a professional that has 5 years of experience with full-charge bookkeeping, in the construction industry and/or accounting firm. They will help our team ensure budgets, timelines, and job costs are accurate and oversee all financial transactions for the company, including accounts payable and receivables, payroll, and bank and credit card reconciliation for both companies. Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and manage the accounts payables and accounts receivables process.
• Work with the owner or project manager and provide detailed financial reporting and create spreadsheets to ensure costs and construction of all projects are accurately invoiced and booked into QuickBooks correctly.
• Perform extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into QuickBooks correctly for the correct company.
• Update and maintain accurate financial records, contracts, tax reports, financial statements, Profit Loss, and spreadsheets.
• Responsible for full cycle accounting that includes invoices, checks, payroll, and payroll reports accurately and on time and resolve any invoice issues.
• All HR paperwork for all employees and entering QuickBooks, Child support, and employee insurance.
• Enter Timesheets accurately into the weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls for multiple companies.
• Work with outside CPA and Insurance companies for Bonding and Insurance on New projects.
• Gather and process all information for Insurance Audits and CPA Reviews
• Work with outside CPA to Safeguard the accuracy of the general ledger and journal entries, and prepare balance sheets, and financial reports Quarterly for all companies.
• Working Knowledge of AIA Contract Documents to be able to create Contracts, Sub-Contracts, and Change Orders
• Working knowledge of HUD Forms and Websites for the Texas Housing Authority

Requirements:

• Certified Bookkeeper and/or 5 years of full charge bookkeeping in a busy multiple-company environment and a high school diploma is required.
• 5 years of experience in accounting or full-charge construction industry - helpful
• Must have Exceptional organization, multi-tasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills and have great communication skills both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with construction accounting concepts, tax strategies, and best practices
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, such as QuickBooks
