ResponsibilitiesThe RFBC Patient Care Assistant performs direct patient care and clerical duties as directed by the Registered Nurse and is responsible for maintaining a smooth flow of patient related communications, written and verbal, between medical, nursing and ancillary staff.

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $21.99- $22.65 hourly. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
QualificationsMinimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent;
Completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent preparation and/or experience.
Minimum Experience: Knowledge of aseptic technique preferred;
1 year of prior acute care experience, CNA or completion of first clinical course in a Registered Nurse program required;
6 months experience working in Maternal Child Health Service preferred;
Must demonstrate mature judgment, good communication skills;
Computer proficiency preferred.
Required Certification/Registration: Current and ongoing BLS required.
Physical Demands: Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Lifts, positions,
pushes and/or transfers patient. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending,
kneeling, crouching.
Working Conditions: Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances. May be exposed to
unpleasant patient elements. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
and occasionally to irregular work hours.
