The Neuroscience & Stroke Program Director provides management and direction for the Neuroscience Service and Stroke Program according to the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), DNV, and NYS DOH guidelines. Works collaboratively with the Neurology Medical Director and various members of the Neuroscience Leadership Team to ensure patient care, treatment and coverage consistent with the standards of care of Garnet Health.

Compensation for the role is $99,665-$124,581 annually.

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team members compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree in a related field required. Masters Degree in a related field preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years clinical experience in Neuroscience care.
Two (2) years in leadership/compliance or quality position. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships, to have cogent (verbal and written) communication skills, accept and implement change, problem solve and make decisions.

Required Certification/Registration:

Current and ongoing license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York
Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be accepted in lieu of BLS.

Preferred Certification/Membership :

Specialty board certifications (Stroke Certified Registered Nurse or Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse) preferred
National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification preferred
Member of AAN preferred

Required Skills: Requires demonstrated clinical competency in order to provide mentorship, direction and support to staff. Requires demonstrated excellent interpersonal, teaching, oral and written communication skills to interact with all levels of hospital personnel, the medical staff, patients and other customers. Requires demonstrated practical knowledge of common office software applications including Power Point, Excel, Word, etc. Requires demonstrated experience using EPIC in a clinical setting.

Physical Requirements: Travel to multiple facilities is required.

Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
