While you enjoy the journey as our Senior Estimator, you will lead our estimating team, be organized and evaluate information in a highly fast-paced, deadline driven environment. As a self-starter, results-oriented team member who proactively complete cost estimates for a wide range of projects. To be successful in this role you will be dependable, proficient in basic math and geometry, and be highly organized.

The Senior Estimator’s responsibilities include, among other functions as requested: 

• Assemble accurate and complete cost estimates at 50% Design Development(DD) and 100% Construction Development (CD) levels
• Perform quantity take off and analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
• Independently set priorities and delegate to estimating team to meet bid submission deadlines
• Partnering with other key leaders and marketing department with proposal process. Ability to co-author technical writing within the proposal process.
• Collect and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure bids are complete
• Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
• Develop strategies to win competitive bids
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to evaluate site conditions and unique site challenges

Minimum Requirements

• 10 years of related experience with a commercial general contractor, specialty contractor or construction manager preferred
• 10 years of related experience with vertical projects and experience with cast-in-place concrete takeoff and cost estimating
• Experience with NAVFAC/USACE and Public Works
• Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree preferred 
• Proficiency in Word and Excel spread sheets, on-screen take-off (OST), bluebeam and scheduling 
• Experience with Sage, Timberline estimating preferred
• Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Test

The salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $150,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment / Physical Demands: This position works in a professional office environment. Senior Estimator may be required to attend Pre-Bid Location meetings and walks. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and use a computer. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The Employee may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
