Garces Group is Hiring a General Manager Near Philadelphia, PA

DescriptionObjective: The general manager is responsible for the overall leadership a local performing arts Food & Beverage Program, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial performance. The general manager is accountable for Catering, Concessions, Café, and Restaurant performance versus performance targets. They ensure continuous improvement in restaurant performance.
Responsibilities:Leadership Effectiveness
  • Provides overall operational leadership, including all level planning and execution for assigned location. Maintains a positive presence throughout the location, including serving as a positive ambassador and role model of the Garces vision and standards. Facilitates a culture of commitment to Garces vision of inspired hospitality. Accepts full accountability for location’s performance.
  • Builds a winning leadership/management and front-line team; recruits, selects, trains, assigns, schedules, coaches, and councils employees to ensure the highest level of operational performance. Communicates job expectations and manages employee performance. Supports the continuous growth and development of all employees.
  • Ensures a superior hospitality and culinary experience for all clients and guests. Consistently identifies, implements, and reinforces operational standards, procedures and systems to ensure a superior guest hospitality experience.
Business Effectiveness
  • Understands and ensures location performance against company operating standards and metrics, including guest satisfaction, employee engagement, net revenue, cost control & NOI performance and health, safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintains a superior understanding of food and beverage standards and trends; guides and protects the food, beverage, and service experience, constantly exploring the latest trends and opportunities for program growth and evolution.
  • Ensures the continuous maintenance and performance of the restaurants physical plant. Monitors and ensures that all food and beverage preparation areas and employees maintain the highest standards of public health, sanitation, and safety. Ensures proper food handling and safety procedures are in effect at all times.
  • Manages the various locations financial reporting and budgeting process. Consistently monitors and controls company assets, including all food, beverage, FFE and cash. Ensures the adequate security of all company human and financial capital and assets.
  • Effectively resolves operational challenges and issues.

  • Ensures the highest level of integrity and accountability in all business dealings; serves as a role model for excellence in all he/she does. Follows through on all commitments.
  • Makes personal development a priority, constantly seeking new ways to grow as a leader and business person.

  • Builds and sustains positive relationships with all stakeholder groups, including employees, guests, partners, shareholders and the surrounding community.

  • Maintains a positive attitude and generates excitement for the restaurant.

  • Manages personalities, preserves equity and cooperation, and resolves conflict as needed.
  • Communicates consistently, candidly, and constructively to all stakeholder groups.
  • Performs related duties as required.
RequirementsQualificationsKnowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years operations management experience, preferably in a high volume, upscale catering, hotel, or resort environment.
  • Superior leadership, management, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver superior operational performance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Bachelors degree in hospitality management, business or related field highly preferred.
