GAP Solutions, Inc. is Hiring a HR Coordinator Near Herndon, VA

Position Objective: Provide human resources support and manage the onboarding and offboarding process. Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, including employment processing, records management, and completing personnel transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Human Resources Support

  • Create and update employee records s in the company’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS, Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and SharePoint.
  • Coordinates with various departments including but not limited to recruiting, payroll, program management and IT to ensure that all onboarding and offboarding tasks are completed.
  • Initiates IT requests for 365 profile creation and any other technology needed by new hires.
  • Facilitates the equipment return process in collaboration with IT and Program Managers by creating shipping labels and working through logistic concerns.
  •  Assigns new hire onboarding tasks within HRIS and monitors for completion.
  • Initiates background investigations for new hires using a third-party vendor (Accurate) and shares findings with HR Manager and Program Managers as needed.
  • Serve as the main POC for new hires during the Onboarding process.
  • Responsible for creating HR reports including but not limited to new hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Ensures integrity of HRIS from initial entry through life cycle of employees.
  • Conduct new-employee orientations and assigns separation surveys.
  • Assist HR team in the management of Wellness initiatives.
  • May be required to offer support for special projects.

Office Support

  • Create Accurate Background invoices and coordinate payment process with Accounts Payable department. Assist in planning company sponsored events (holiday parties, volunteering opportunities, etc.) 
  • Conduct inventory of office supplies and initiate orders as needed.
  • Process ID badge requests.
  • Order and take food orders for team lunches as required. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience in a human resource administrative role.
    • Will consider a HS Diploma with four years of experience in a human resources function.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations (E-verify, DOL exceptions))
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond accurately to simultaneous tasks.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational capabilities to manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience working in a government contracting environment highly preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
