In this role, you will assist in monthly close and reporting processes related to revenue for GameStop’s US operations. This role reports to the Accounting Manager, Revenue and Vendor Funding will partner extensively within the controllership function as well as with finance, SEC reporting, treasury, and merchandising teams. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all internal and external accounting, reconciliation, and reporting deadlines are met or exceeded 
• Coordinate with merchandising and other business partners to reconcile vendor funding and identify monthly accruals
• Oversee the accounting and revenue recognition related to vendor funding
• Collaborate with technical accounting and internal controls teams to ensure operational accounting processes meet applicable GAAP and controls requirements
• Analyze and explain business drivers of balance sheet and income statement variances
• Support internal and external audits by efficiently maintaining records and preparing required documentation
• Ensure all accounting activities are completed with the highest level of control and integrity
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence in handling potentially stressful situations, including managing competing priorities, change, tight deadlines, and conflict

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 years of progressive accounting experience required
• Strong understanding and experience with ASC606 application
• CPA candidate

Preferred

• Big 4 accounting experience
• Experience with ecommerce or other technology company
• Ability to learn and optimize the use of technologies

Systems Experience

• Working knowledge in large enterprise ERP’s such as SAP or Oracle
• Knowledge of tools such as, UiPath, Google Big Query, and Alteryx is nice to have
• Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
