Galloway Ridge, Inc. is Hiring a Nurse Manager/Assistant Director of Nursing Near Pittsboro, NC

Description

 Join our team! Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC. The Nurse Manager/Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for the independent supervision of the delivery of care to a group of residents in a nursing facility. Assess resident needs, administer nursing care as required, develop individual care plans and evaluate nursing care given. Supervises RN’s, LPN’s, CNA’s and other personnel in the delivery of care of health and holistic care of each resident throughout the Arbor. Ensures all applicable Federal, State, and local standards are adhered to. Assumes leadership of the Arbor nursing staff in the absence of the Director of Nursing.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists DON to develop and implement short and long term goals and objectives for nursing department to ensure optimal quality of care. Assumes responsibility for the Arbor during temporary absence of DON or other Nurse leadership. 
  • Participates in hiring process through interviews and provides feedback for probationary and annual evaluations.
  • Provides feedback for probationary and annual reviews.
  • Prepares reports as required and keeps DON informed of the operations of nursing services and changes needed to ensure highest quality of care. Serves on various committees as required of facility. 
  • Leads with commitment of care values. Interacts with residents, families, or visitors to solve problems, maintains goodwill, hospitality, and promotes positive customer relations.
  • Maintains positive work relations within department, with physicians and with other departments to plan, develop and maintain optimal resident care and facility operations adhering to state and federal regulations.
  • Conducts ongoing assurance rounds, audits, and reports to gather information in evaluating effectiveness of current processes and/or to identify any needs for change in practices. Completes reports on DON as required. Participates as a clinical lead in Antibiotic Stewardship Program as infection prevention, and is a member of Risk Committee. Provides ongoing education to staff and develops action plans for concerns notes. 
  • Attends and participates in workshop, seminars and other programs to keep abreast of changes in healthcare
  • Assists with determining and advocating for staffing levels of nursing department for equal distribution of workload and optimal level of care for residents. Assists with scheduling as needed to assure residents’ needs are met and per regulation guidelines. Works as needed with call outs to help maintain equal distribution of workload. Required to take call as needed. 
  • Assists with new admission assessments, evaluation of plan of care throughout stay, and participate with d/c planning and instruction as indicated. 
  • All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
  • Ability to supervisor and coordinate nursing staff.
  • Must be able to read and write clearly.
  • Must be able to communicate in a friendly manner.
  • Possesses the ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates.
  • Long-term care experience and supervisory experience of 1 year.
  • Continuing education as required. 
  • RN License.
  • CPR Certification.
