We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented individual to join our Corporate Product department in the role of Product Development Analyst - Personal Auto. In this position, you will contribute to the enhancement of our rating and underwriting strategies, ensuring the optimal usage and cost efficiencies of third-party rating and underwriting reports and data.

What does a PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ANALYST - PERSONAL AUTO do at GAINSCO?

Identify New Product Ideas:

  • Research and stay aware of competitor underwriting strategies, rating algorithms, and technological advancements.
  • Propose innovative product ideas based on market research and analysis.

Maintain and Improve Reporting Budgets:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance rating and underwriting report budgets.
  • Provide insights to department leadership on budget performance.
  • Recommend modifications to report ordering processes, quantifying expense savings and evaluating the impact of introducing new reports.

Maximize Process Efficiency:

  • Contribute to efforts aimed at maximizing process efficiency within the department.
  • Generate recommendations to adapt and transform current processes for continuous improvement. Execute, maintain, and analyze reports on various business metrics.
  • Generate creative ideas to solve business problems based on report analysis.

What is required?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience (Analyst I):

  • One or more years’ experience in personal lines auto insurance.
  • Experience in product management, analysis, rating/pricing, underwriting, product development/research, forms creation, and/or compliance preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI or SQL and Excel required.
  • Mindset for numbers and understanding of clean, validated reporting.
  • Data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to gather, extract, monitor, format, and understand information, expressing ideas effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quick adaptation to changing timelines.
