EHS & Training Coordinator
Location: Winona, MN
Purpose
The EHS & Training Coordinator assists in maintaining and improving the safety program by defining and developing processes to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. The EHS & Training Coordinator also serves as the ISO 14001 EMS Representative and the developer of production operations training.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the plant's environmental, health and safety system, including required and relevant health and safety training.
Train team members and launch our behavior-based safety program.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety laws/regulations/code requirements, as well as corporate environmental, health and safety standards and requirements.
Coordinate safety and loss prevention programs activities.
Work with site personnel and cross-functional teams to implement and train team members on industrial hygiene, fire protection, emergency response, etc.
Lead hazard reviews, risk analyses, root cause analyses, and other environmental, health and safety studies as needed and track implementation of actions.
Complete and report weekly and monthly EHS metrics
Monitor site environmental, health and safety performance and recommend priorities and actions for improvement.
Assure tooling, gauging, and work cells are designed in the most ergonomic manner as appropriate.
Maintain all EH&S compliance related reports and other recordkeeping, including annual reporting with regulatory authorities.
Ensure personnel managing hazardous waste are properly trained upon hiring, and receive refresher training at least annually
Liaison with regulatory authorities, and regulatory compliance with hazardous waste laws and regulations
Ensuring hazardous waste containers are properly labeled, covered and staged
Assist in coordinating 6S audits and projects.
Work with operations teams to develop, implement, and maintain a Production Operator training program.
Qualifications (Required):
High school or GED
2-4 years of related experience or training
Knowledge of OSHA standards in manufacturing setting
Qualifications (Preferred)
2- or 4-year degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field
Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports.

This job operates in a professional manufacturing office and shop-floor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and does require daily shop-floor presence and interaction with other departments and employees.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is a full-time position on day shift, Monday through Friday. Special projects and regular deadlines may require extra hours and/or weekend work.
