POSITION TITLE: Kitting/DOT Driver Tech

TEAM: Manufacturing 

REPORTS TO: Kitting Team Lead

POSITION INTERFACE: All Gable Teams 

FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non -Exempt

OBJECTIVE

To ensure the accurate completion of team expectations while using efficient, ethical, and effective methods. 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Ensure you are working in a safe appropriate manner at all times and wearing the required PPE.
• Working in the necessary hours needed to meet our customer’s dates. 
• Positively support and work with all team members as a team.
• Support, maintain and build the Lean Culture at Gable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Reading and understanding bill of materials.
• Work with our Purchasing team to ensure we are using stock material and making acceptable substitutions. 
• Performing cycle counts on all materials.
• Delivering and picking up parts and materials.
• Scheduling outbound shipment. 
• Receiving of inbound raw materials. 
• Notification of short shipped items to Purchasing. 
• Documentation of shipping logs and photos. 
• Operating a forklift.
• Verifying proper procedures are being followed to maintain product specifications within our quality standards. 
• Informing management of labor needs and/or problems related to production.
• Maintaining cross team communication. 
• Complying with all OSHA and MOSH regulations. 
• Maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and disciplined work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have the ability to frequently lift items weighting between 10 and 50 lbs. Additionally, twelve-hour work shifts are necessary in this position in which you must stand, bend, or stoop without relief. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job team member is exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the environment is moderate to high. Frequent shop noise will be very loud and protective ear covers may be needed. The required PPE must be work at all times while in the shop. 

EDUCATIONAL/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

High school diploma or GED.

Ability and willingness to receive Forklift Certification.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to receive a DOT Medical Card. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

All prospective team members must pass a criminal background check and drug test. Candidates must also meet the requirements for an I-9, e-Verify.
