Essential Duties:

• Ensures that the packaging area is operating as efficiently as possible at all times. This includes the development and implementation of process/production improvements that affect output, quality and/or costs.
• Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure the packaging of products meets customer specifications, company quality standards, and customer delivery requirements.
• Ensures that all packaging employees are properly trained to maximize overall operational effectiveness.

• Manage all packaging and rework activities to minimize the overall impact to operations.
• Continually check on pack lines to monitor progress and verify efficient, accurate production.

• Monitor measures to improve packaging methods and quality/accuracy of packaged products to minimize the possibility of errors.
• Monitor metrics to report KPIs status of department to management and to monitor employee output.
• Maintain necessary level of communication with team members and other support teams and does so in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
• Review with Operations Manager work center output to ensure proper allocation and efficiency is being met.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Basic computer knowledge preferred. Training will be provided for specific computer needs.
• Extremely organized and efficient.
• Work well under pressure and have impressive stress management.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization in English.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate basic math to confirm counts, unit of measures, etc.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.

Training, Education & Experience:

• 2 years experience in a manufacturing, logistics or related environment.
• 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing, packaging, logistics or related environment.
• Ability and desire to improve efficiency and increase capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and mentor.

• Self-motivated with positive attitude, excellent communication/presentation skills, and proven leadership skills.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma/Lean methodology preferred.

Work Environment/Demands of the Position:

• Must be able to occasionally wrap, lift and move boxes/packages of up to 40-pounds.
