BYTON is searching for talented, self-motivated professionals to work in a free-thinking culture creating the next gen premium entry EVs with the highest autonomous technologies at our Santa Clara, CA facility.Job DescriptionPrimary responsibility is to determine commodity strategy for Vision and Low speed feature sets. Responsible for the technical content and integrity of specific components and systems across all programs. Creation of commodity business plans in line with technical strategy, including strategic supplier and technology development. Planning and development of necessary skills and resources including training, coaching & recruitment.• Confirm system requirements (technical and financial) cascaded from vehicle level attributes • Responsible for commodity quality • Timely escalation of issues to system owner level • All aspects of People management, motivation and people development within department team (including appraisals and objectives setting) • Deploy appropriate resources to balance the demand across the programs, current quality and plant teams • Manage recruitment and fulfill resource requirements • Responsible for approving engineering component releases for programs • Influence the development & implementation of an efficient and effective design process & application of ‘should designs’, prevent actions, engineering standards and detection events. • Joint responsibility with Supplier Sourcing for commodity business plans and cost reductions • Supplier selection & concurrence • Supplier development and strategic technical partnerships • Conflict resolution between strategy and deployment on programQualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering or related field• 8 years of delivering technical products through a team • Demonstrable experience of budget and target management • Relevant technical and professional accreditations • Experience of managing a team of Engineers • Experience of developing commodity and system strategy • Experience of developing future technology strategies • Negotiation and influencing skillsAdditional Informationhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZqDl5e7z_YOODrDLpUJpcwhttp://www.byton.com/https://www.reuters.com/article/us-future-mobility-autos/china-e-car-venture-future-mobility-names-brand-byton-eyes-u-s-europe-idUSKCN1BI1G6
