Embedded Systems Engineer

Role Summary: 

Futronics, a global leading AI robotic company, is looking for top notch Software Engineers to join the team in Pasadena. You will have the unique opportunity to work on the new line of service robots and also grow our talented R&D team to drive our innovative next-generation service robots. The R&D team is made up of a diverse set of skilled researchers and engineers with different areas of expertise including Autonomous Navigation, Human-Robot Interaction and NLP, Manipulation and Control, and Mechatronics. The ideal candidate has a successful track record in productizing applications and will be able to work hand in hand with the team to deliver the newest cutting edge AI robotic ecosystem.

Essential Responsibilities: 

• Essential Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible of designing and implementing software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
  • Defining, architecting and developing high quality software solutions, testing and debugging system software for sophisticated robotic systems
  • Analyzing and enhancing efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources
  • Collaborate with agile cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product, Overseas Development Team) in product development projects.
  • Design and implement new features and frameworks for healthcare service robots.
  • Integrate and validate new product designs.
  • Design protocols and APIs between system components including server/client interactions and API’s.
  • Collaborate in gamification-based training application design and creation with product and creative teams.
  • Support Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CICD)
  • Support software QA and optimize I/O performance.
  • Assess third party and open-source software.
  • Engineer solutions that are safe for robotic platforms that interact with humans.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

• • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer Science or related field
  • Senior and Principal positions available based on experience.
  • 5 years of experience developing and designing complex, interactive consumer applications
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment to deliver well-designed high-quality code on time
  • Strong knowledge/experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
  • Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
  • Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
  • Experience building customer facing products and services in Consumer Electronics or Consumer Goods
  • Experience using animation software (e.g., Maya, Motion Builder, Blender) a plus.
  • Knowledge of ROS a big plus
  • Deep understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment & continuous monitoring
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
