Summary

Essential Duties

• Conducts assessments and advises students on academic and career issues; identifies the educational and career options appropriate for each student and assists with the analysis of each option, including possible outcomes and their implications
• Serves as a District liaison with area businesses, advisory groups, and agencies to encourage the further development of school-to-work opportunities
• Provides training and support to staff members on the integration of the Career Awareness curricula and workplace skills; Develops transition materials and resources
• Collaborates with instructional staff to track student’s progress for academic, career, and personal growth
• Develops ways to link secondary and post-secondary education and new approaches to integrate business with all levels of education
• Provides information to parents regarding service options
• Engages in professional readings for current best practice
• Maintains the flow of communication between agencies and central office
• Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student’s educational program
• Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications
• Uses technology to support instruction
• Serves as a building level resource to faculty, administrators, and related services personnel
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
