Full-Time Deputy Auditor’s Position Opening
The Auditor’s Office is currently accepting applications for a full-time secretarial position. The ideal candidate has applied knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., 36 hours/week, $19.81/hour
DUTIES INCLUDE:
· Answers telephone and greets and assists office visitors, taking messages and/or directing callers to appropriate department or individual.
· Processes applications for property tax exemptions, including completing necessary forms, posting information in proper ledger books, entering data in computer, and filing written documentation for permanent records in appropriate files.
· Reviewing property deeds for acceptance, including verifying legal descriptions, property ownership and tax statement mailing address.
· Assists with maintaining transfer of property deeds and entering updated information in computer.
· Maintains plat books, including reviewing surveys for accuracy, researching problems, and correcting Geographic Information System (GIS) data as needed.
· Assists with preparing claims and entering appropriate figures in ledger and computer accounting system.
· Updates fixed and capital assets and prepares annual fixed asset report
· Maintains email and phone list for county.
· Assists with problems for property owners, including reviewing plat and transfer books, pulling old deeds, verifying accuracy, and re-platting problems for corrections.
· Prepares meeting agendas and minutes.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
· General map reading/interpreting
· Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping.
· Previous experience assisting the public
· Ability to multi-task
