Fuller Theological Seminary is Hiring a Tech Facilitator Near Pasadena, CA

 

TECH FACILITATOR

DEPT: Teaching & Learning / Technology Support Services

HOURS: 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 hours per week

FT/PT/TEMP: Part-time/Quarterly

STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Videoconferencing Coordinator

Brief Description:

Tech Facilitators are responsible for operating the videoconferencing system and providing technical support for courses which are held synchronously with both face-to-face and video-conferenced students (F2FOL modality). The ideal Facilitator is a lifelong learner who is familiar with the Fuller educational culture and would be able to track the content of the conversations in order to benefit the classroom experience. 

Essential Functions:

  • Arrive at each class session 30 minutes prior to class to set up equipment, test the connection, and assist the instructor
  • Operate videoconferencing equipment during the class
  • Manage the Zoom session, including troubleshooting students’ video conferencing issues
  • Assist the professor with minor technical needs prior to and during class
  • Escalate problems to Tech Support as needed
  • Be mindful of ways to improve the course experience
  • A F2FOL Facilitator does not perform any duties that fall under the description of a Teaching Assistant (grading, leading discussions, etc.)

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; completion of graduate level courses preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in a work environment demonstrating individual responsibility
  • Ability to quickly gain proficiency with new technology
  • Strong customer services orientation and a professional demeanor
  • Good time and task management skills
  • Able to maintain a positive customer service attitude in challenging situations
  • Capacity to remain calm under the pressure of crisis situations and follow established troubleshooting protocol
  • Physical requirements
    • Able to lift 25 pounds onto a cart
    • Able to push up to 150 pounds on a cart
  • Ability to work appropriately within an academic environment

Additional Remarks:

  • Must be willing to abide by Fuller Community Standards
  • Must be able to work in-person at the respective campus

Pay Scale

  • The Seminary expects to pay: $17.00 per hour USD.
