FujiFilm is Hiring a Senior Software Engineer Near Greenwood, SC

Overview

This position is within the Imaging Division (ID) and provides consumer and commercial photographic products and services. The position is responsible for the development, creation, and modification of general computer applications software or specialized utility programs while analyzing user needs and developing software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Will analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. The Sr Software Engineer will report to the Software Development Manager in Greenwood, SC.

FUJIFILM North America Corporation consists of five divisions including Imaging, Electronic Imaging, Graphic Systems, Optical Devices, and Industrial Products and Corporate New Business Development. These companies market a broad range of consumer and commercial products in North America and Latin America. The Imaging Division (ID) provides consumer and commercial photographic products and services. The Electronic Imaging Division (EID) markets consumer digital cameras; the Graphic Systems Division (GSD) supplies products and services to the graphic printing industry; the Optical Devices Division (OD) provides optical lenses for broadcast, cinematography, closed circuit television and binoculars. The Industrial Products Division (IPD) supplies cutting edge digital imaging and conventional film, chemistry, and equipment to the NDT industry.

FNAC-ID Personalized Photo Products Group (PPPG) now makes more than 450 personalized items (such as coffee mugs, posters, framed prints, canvas wall décor and more). PPPG provides a turnkey, back-end service of producing these items for a variety of retail and online customers.

Responsibilities

  • Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Modifies existing software to correct errors, allowing it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
  • Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Consults with customers about software system design and maintenance.
  • Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
  • Designs, develops, and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications.
  • Supervises the work of programmers, technologists and technicians and other engineering and scientific personnel.
  • Obtains and evaluates information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configurations.
  • Determines system performance standards.
  • Trains users in new or modified equipment.
  • Stores, retrieves, and manipulates data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
  • Specifies power supply requirements and configurations.
  • Recommends purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, and humidity in area of system installation.

Required Skills/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, associate degree, or certification, in computer science, mathematics, information technology, computer programming, or a related field; or equivalent experience and/or training.
  • 7-10 years of working experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; internal and external.
  • Image processing concepts and methods.
  • Microsoft C#, VB.net and C
  • Microsoft SQL server
  • Microsoft Office
  • SharePoint and Project/Azure Dev Ops or TFS/Git experience
  • Restful APIs/SOAP/Web Services
  • AGILE Development
