The Role

The Process Technology Engineer will work with the Process Technology Group (PTG) to operate process scaling equipment, collect ultra-high purity samples from both pilot and full-scale operating equipment to issue summary reports as directed by PTG’s senior engineering staff.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Operation of pilot filtration platform(s) to meet PTG staff objectives. (both manual and PLC controlled systems)
  • Review and then execute project/test plan based on input form key stakeholders.
  • Issue timely, accurate and detailed project updates with respect to schedule, scope and budget to key stakeholders.
  • Assist senior staff to draft, review, and then issue final reports to key stakeholders.
  • Identify, request/requisition and manage consumables and or equipment required to complete assigned tests and projects.
  • Collect and issue for testing, all samples required to complete assigned tasks. The majority of these samples will be collected during pilot system operation but could include samples collected from high volume manufacturing (HVM) systems.
  • Manage the logistics of sample submission/shipping and communicate the test priorities with the lab.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum BS Degree Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Materials Science preferred) and 0 – 1 year of experience.
  • Experience in chemical purification processes including distillation/filtration, process scale up and manufacturing a plus.
  • Excellent engineering skills to include thorough understanding of Six Sigma Quality concepts, problem-solving techniques, statistics, (design of experiment, SPC, 8D).
  • High energy, excellent internal and external communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills to ensure project milestones are met objectives are achieved. Project Management training and experience a plus.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of time to visit key vendors to study and influence the design of purification equipment as well as coordinating with key raw material suppliers.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
