JOB PURPOSE perform, plan mechanical, plumbing and electrical repairs and upgrades to the buildings and production facilities.

Assess material and labor requirements for specific projects and repairs. Procure equipment, tools and other necessary items for projects and ongoing maintenance needs. Complete planned maintenance work and work orders. Serve as liaison to departments, faculty, staff, physical plant management and outside contractors. Drive vehicle if needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES ; Prior experience working in facility maintenance is desired. Forklift and/or conveyor repair is a plus. Previous experience performing duties associated with Siemens or Allen Bradley Programmable Controllers or other relative PLC's is desired but not required. Additional experience with other crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry and welding will contribute to a well rounded candidate.

The Following Skills Related To Electricial Trade Are Desired • Ability to replace electric motors, switches and wires as required. • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, relays and AC and DC motors • Troubleshoot and repair input and output control devices. • Ability to work with 3-phase electrical systems • Must be able to read insructions, blue prints and manuals. Must be able to use any meters, hand tools and shop equipment required to perform tasks. • Able to run conduit and bending pipe • Knowledge of NEC a plus • Experience with voltage up to and including 480v •

 To qualify for this position, you must be at least 18 years of age, have basic PC skills and physically capable of performing heavy lifting tasks. The ability to work regular overtime is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS Most time spent indoors but possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures for one hour plus when working outdoors. Possible exposure to distracting/uncomfortable noise levels, and vibration of body or extremities. Risk of bodily injury from mechanical parts, electricity, etc. Possible exposure to fumes, odors, etc. that may affect respiration and skin.
