This organization is rapidly growing in all phases and is seeking an Export Control Specialist with comprehensive knowledge in ITAR, export licensing, and compliance to play an integral role in managing flow of international operations.
Responsibilities:
· Export Compliance: Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant export laws, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and sanctions programs.
· Classification: Properly classify products, technologies, and services according to export control regulations and maintain accurate records of classifications.
· Licensing: Prepare and submit export license applications when required, including Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLAs), and Export Licenses.
· Screening: Conduct screenings of customers, partners, and transactions against government watchlists, including Denied Parties Lists and Sanctions Lists.
· Training: Provide export compliance training and guidance to company employees to ensure awareness and adherence to export control regulations.
· Recordkeeping: Maintain comprehensive records of export transactions, licenses, and compliance activities for auditing purposes.
· Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential export control compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
· Advisory Support: Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to various departments on export control matters.
· Audits and Investigations: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support compliance audits and investigations as needed.
· Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with changes in export control regulations and contribute to the development and improvement of compliance processes and policies.
· Additional Duties: Other compliance tasks that are deemed important to the organization.
What You Bring to the role:
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Business, Law, Compliance) or equivalent work experience.
· In-depth knowledge of export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
· Previous experience in export compliance, customs, or related fields is preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Proficiency in export control software and databases is a plus.
