Our primary service divisions include: Energy Services, Controls/Automation, HVAC/Plumbing, Electrical, and Engineering Design. Based in Tallahassee, FL (with satellite locations in Pensacola and Atlanta), our projects are typically based in 15-20 States per year with over 60% of our business being outside of Florida. Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) who understands all facets of business operations management. Industry-specific knowledge should not be necessary. As the COO, you will be empowered to manage the overall operations and ensure the efficient and effective functioning of our company. You will be responsible for a wide range of activities in all phases of administration, personnel, finances, facilities, and business systems. You will work closely with the executive team to drive business growth and optimize operational processes. Our COO will create and/or improve all administrative functions in our firm. We are building a firm where technology run the business, and people run the technology.

You must have experience managing a team and a multi-million dollar budget. This is not a position for an “Office Manager” or an “Administrative Assistant". We have put considerable energy into building our “A-team” and this new position is a key hire; it is crucial that we get this right! Our process might take a little longer…but it’s worth it. Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure smooth functioning of all divisions.
  • Proactively identify and implement effective policies, procedures, and processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Lead and manage efforts to drive collaboration and achieve business targets
  • Measure and Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess company performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Drive change management initiatives to support organizational growth and development
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts
  • Collaborate with the executive team Identify opportunities for business development and expansion into new markets or product lines
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence

Experience
You will be required to demonstrate evidence of prior success with:

  • Business process refinement and systems management to ensure profitable operation of the Firm
  • Systems management to ensure matters are handled appropriately so that client needs are met, legal and ethical requirements are met, and clients receive excellent service
  • Employee leadership, performance management, supervision (and termination)
  • Understand and use common financial reports to make decisions (budget variance, PL, cashflow forecast)
  • Management of bookkeeper, accountant, technology systems, and other vendors
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
  • Exceptional communication/interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams towards achieving common goals
  • Experience in driving organizational change initiatives and managing through ambiguity
