The Data Governance leader will drive the definition, implementation, and refinement of a comprehensive data governance program. The role will act as a center-point for the initiative by bringing complimentary threads together in partnership with key stakeholders. This is an incredible opportunity to shape a new program from the ground up and substantially impact the organization.

The successful candidate is expected to:

• Partner closely with key stakeholders to understand strategies and needs across business functions.
• Leverage data governance expertise to conceptualize a data governance program that supports business goals, measurably adds value to the company (via regular KPI reporting), and augments standard workflows (i.e., SDLC and PMLC).
• Develop and maintain a future state program view along with a complimentary staged realization roadmap.
• Define and implement standards and policies that govern data availability, usability, integrity and security.
• Drive the creation of a data stewardship model and reinforce associated accountabilities.
• Institute and chair a data governance oversight committee in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Develop an attribute inventory and provide a means for discovering the lineage of each element; recommend associated toolsets as relevant.
• Lead the establishment of data quality and security standards and facilitate remediation efforts where gaps exist.
• Own and manage external vendor relationships related to systems and services used as part of the program.
• Act as a culture carrier for FS Investments values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology, business, finance, or related field required.
• 5 years of experience working in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience leading a full data governance program at a large organization in a regulated industry.
• Prior systems development and data architecture experience is required.
• Strong working knowledge of major toolsets utilized in the data governance space.
• Experience working in the investment/asset management industry preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams and key stakeholders, as well as senior leadership.
• Prior experience presenting strategy, updates, reports, and challenges to senior leadership.
• Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated success in adapting to changing and competing priorities.
