Job Summary:In the role of a clinical practitioner, trainer/preceptor, and consultant for Cardio-Thoracic, Thoracic, Trauma, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Transplant, Vascular, Otolaryngology, Oral, Urology, Plastic, Neurosurgery, Robotics and General Surgery; develops and implements nursing techniques designed to improve patient care in a specialized area of perioperative nursing. Makes nursing decisions relating to nursing care management based on clinical judgment in an area of specialized expertise. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Approximately one year of clinical practice in designated specialty to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of unit and departmental policies and procedures, and to fulfill established quality and quantity standards for the job is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a program at an accredited School of Nursing is required.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required upon hire.
