Friendship Village is Hiring an Assistant Chaplin, Full-time (Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing) Near St. Louis, MO
The Assistant Chaplain is responsible for assisting the Chaplain Department to accomplish its purpose, which is to glorify God by serving the spiritual needs of the residents and staff and to assist in fulfilling the vision of the Department, which is to touch the life of every resident and staff member with the transforming power of God’s love, as we follow Jesus Christ and serve others.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains rounding/visitation with all skilled nursing and assisted living residents. This includes connecting with all residents at least monthly with appropriate notation, welcoming new residents within 4 workdays, supporting those who are critically ill and actively dying, and offering limited pastoral care (i.e., 3 visits) to those with particular spiritual needs by conducting FACT spiritual assessments.
- Visits and ministers to the sick in the SN&R and hospitals as needed.
- Assists various joint and support ministries as required (Bible studies, Hymn Sings, Grief Support, Stephens Ministry, Hospitality team, etc.).
- Helps, as needed, conducting religious services and study groups within the entire community. This includes both Sunday and mid-week gatherings and may involve the occasional preparation of liturgy and presentation of sermons.
- Orients new Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing residents to religious programming.
