FRIENDLY EXPRESS is Hiring a Food Service Director Near Waycross, GA

The Food Service Director for Friendly Express has responsibility for the operations of the convenience store’s kitchen, dining room and other appointed food service areas. This position involves decision making and management for sales, marketing, maintenance, food presentation and general appearance of the facility. The position requires managing sales, margin, and waste in order to maximize profits within stores. The Food Service Director should be able to create or adjust existing recipes, menus items, promotional offerings and build relationships with vendors to do so. The position will be required to maintain records of food safety certification for all locations and organize testing when due. The Food Service Director will work closely with vendor partners and internal trainers to educate all food service personnel on Friendly Express expectations and proper food safety and handling procedures. In addition to fulfilling the above duties the Food Service Director’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

  • Oversee meal production and ensure food is properly stored, prepared, cooked and served
  • Create and analyze weekly and monthly reporting regarding the Food Service category
  • Analyze P&L statements, provide feedback on food service performance versus budget and prior periods
  • Establish and maintain food service standards
  • Review and approve compensation changes and performance evaluations for direct report(s)
  • Manage food service employees including staffing
  • Train food service staff in proper meal production techniques, food preparation and food service safety policies
  • Supervise and oversee all phases of meal production and work with all food service personnel to ensure proper quality and quantity of food production and meal preparation in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and discuss presentations regarding the Food service category for meetings
  • Follow up on Department of Agriculture visits
  • Ensure proper inventories are being maintained and reported timely and accurately
  • Address any maintenance or safety issues within the Food Service area
  • Responsible for obtaining necessary Dept. of Ag and food service permitting, licenses and certifications at new sites.
  • Procure and inspect all products for quality
  • Control food costs through careful and consistent review of production and following product storage requirements, standardized recipes and waste control procedures.
  • Set and maintain the highest quality standards of service and dining room operations.
  • Continually develop and update food service strategies by reviewing pricing and menu items
  • Manage relationships with vendors and franchisees
  • Identify and survey competition
  • Assume all assigned duties to accommodate store and company operational needs.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of all food preparation methods, qualities, measurements, and proper food storage techniques and must be able to communicate effectively with management team and subordinates. Integrity, commitment, and a strong self-motivated work ethic are a must. The individual is required to frequently walk, stand, reach, grab, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The individual must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
