GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
The production planner represents the link between production and customer service. Primary goal is to achieve a high on time delivery and simultaneously meet the OEE and inventory targets. The production planner is responsible for purchasing raw material, planning and scheduling of productions orders, monitoring work in process and coordinating with all departments responsible for delivering product to customers on time
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
· Ensure that work orders are scheduled correctly based on demand/stock levels and available production capacity.
· Enter WIP in system, ensure system is accurate.
· Track WIP and provide status updates, start escalation process for slow moving WIP
· Maintenance of physical planning board (Plan work orders and ensure production follows sequence of work orders).
· Start escalation process in case of production disruptions (e.g., defect machine, missing operator, raw material shortage) and consult with customer service if on time delivery is threatened.
· Track and follow special customer requests (e.g., line down, pull-in, push out).
· Place raw material purchase orders based on MRP requirements in QAD and available capacity and sample requests. Responsible for avoiding downtimes due to missing raw material and simultaneously meeting the inventory target. Have proper back-up documentation.
· Prepare and analyze various KPI’s and reports (e.g., On time delivery, on time starts, past dues, lead time, slow moving WIP), proactively define and implement appropriate actions following the PDCA loop.
· Actively participate in various meetings (e.g., daily LPMS, weekly TOP4 meeting, CCR meeting, Capacity Planning, KPI review).
· Optimize the flow of product.
· Participate in lean activities such as Kaizen Workshops.
· Additional duties as assigned.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF THR JOB
This position is one of the most visible and dynamic in the organization. It requires a person who is enthusiastic and tenacious as well as professional and articulate. The incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Production planner must be able to interact with all levels of the organization. This is a temp to hire position.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
The following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shall be worn when performing work duties, and at all times on the production floor:
Team members will be trained on the proper use and care of assigned PPE. FNST provides the required PPE. It is the associate’s responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to their Manager/supervisor.
