Fresh Mark, Inc. is Hiring a FSQA Manager Near Massillon, OH

Responsible for managing the facility Food Safety and Quality Assurance Department to provide safe, high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. This role has the overall responsibility of ensuring that the food safety system is properly implemented as directed, to ensure USDA regulatory compliance and the production of safe and wholesome products. Accountable for the plant’s quality standards the ideal candidate must provide solid leadership to achieve company, plant, and department goals.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Facilitate, monitor, and control plant quality assurance procedures/policies making sure food safety standards are met or exceeded and regulatory standards for safety and quality are upheld.
  • Enforces compliance as it relates to raw materials, processing, distribution, exports, packaging, finished products, storage, handling and shipping.
  • Establish and advance internal and external relationships that directly or indirectly impact quality through working relationships with customers, USDA inspector, sales and operations team, and FSQA team.
  • Develop, manage, and lead a team of individuals who uphold the quality standards and programs at Fresh Mark. 
  • Ensure product specifications are met and understood by everyone involved in producing the product, reinforcing that producing correct product takes precedence over operational goals.
  • Analyzes food safety and quality information, and customer feedback, and maintains quality records and systems to identify trends to operations teams and facilitate discussions to improve results.

  • Conducts training sessions on a quarterly basis with all departments to review best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Food Science or related field and 4 years’ experience in the food industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • USDA/HACCP Certified, preferred; BRC Certification Experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ demonstrated leadership experience with progressively increased management responsibility.
  • Extensive experience managing and motivating employees in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and uphold standards for these.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills; identify problems or irregularities and prioritize solutions for early resolution.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written from shop floor to senior level management.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
