Fresh Food Generation is Hiring a Front of House Team Member Near Dorchester, MA

Fresh Food Generation is a locally owned, Dorchester-based catering business in its 11th year of operation. We use locally sourced ingredients to craft Caribbean-Inspired and Modern-American dishes. We are excited to celebrate 10 years of business as our customer base continues to grow and enjoy exciting new menu items as we continue to evolve.

Position Details

Front of House Staff Member

Reports to: General Manager

Classification: Full and Part Time Positions

Location: 185 Talbot Ave, Dorchester MA 02124

Work Hours: 10am to 9 pm, Monday – Saturday.

Must be willing to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays per Month.

Compensation: $18 to $22 per hour, depending on experience.

Position Summary

We are looking for a personable individual, passionate about food and customer service, who will be hands on in creating a positive guest experience and work environment. You will ensure that all front of house activities run smoothly and efficiently by keeping everything you need to run the operation on hand. You will get a chance to greet and engage with customers to provide a pleasant visit with efficient service. You will be responsible for holding a high standard for quality for every item that is served to the customer.

Main Responsibilities

● Engages with guests and provide quality customer service.

● Takes ownership of Front of House service activities and ensures orders are being expedited in a timely fashion.

● Assists in filling customer orders and making smoothies, juices, and mocktails.

● Responsible for the preparation of certain menu items such as salads and side dishes.

● Quality control food. Maintains knowledge of menu items and recipes. Ensures menu items are prepared accurately and is delivered to the customer in avisually appealing presentation.

● Knowledgeable and able to operate our point-of-sale system (TOAST).

● Resolves any customer service issues or problems with third party delivery (GrubHub, Uber Eats, UberEats, etc.).

● Communicates effectively with the kitchen team to provide efficient restaurant service.

● Ensures the café is clean and follows sanitation and food safety procedures.

● Follow company closing procedure.

Requirements

● A strong passion for food and building community.

● 2-3 years’ experience in the food industry.

● ServSafe food certified or the ability to become certified.

● Ability to take on work independently and collaborate with others.

● Ability to use email and other basic computer functions.

● Ability to stand on your feet for long hours and lift 40 lbs.

● Proactive and creative problem-solving mentality.

● Multitasking capabilities.
