Field Surveyor Positions available at French-Reneker-Associates, Inc.
French-Reneker-Associates, Inc. is looking for field surveyors to fill full-time positions. French-Reneker is
a civil engineering consulting and surveying firm in Fairfield, Iowa. We work with southeast Iowa
communities, businesses, and residents to develop tailored, practical solutions for their project needs for
an enhanced quality of life. Our core values are integrity, quality work, personability, productivity, and

Party Chief: The survey party chief works under the direction of a licensed surveyor or engineer and
performs and supervises the work of the survey crew. A survey crew gathers information in the field to
prepare plats, legal documentation, maps, reports, and measurements for projects. Work also includes
setting construction stakes and land boundary markers.
Qualifications:
  • At least two years of experience on a survey crew using optic, GPS, robotic survey equipment,
and electronic data collectors.
  • Able to plan, instruct, and direct the work of others.
  • Computer skills necessary to upload and download data to and from electronic data collectors
and perform basic computer tasks.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Must enjoy being outdoors and engaging in active, sometimes strenuous work in sometimes
non-favorable weather conditions.
  • Ability to conduct all work and communications with clients, landowners, and contractors in a
professional manner.
  • Able to walk one to several miles a day while carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

  • Must enjoy being outdoors and engaging in active, sometimes strenuous work in sometimes
non-favorable weather conditions.
  • Ability to conduct all work and communications with clients, landowners, and contractors in a
professional manner.
  • Able to walk one to several miles a day while carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
