The Market Manager oversees the operations of the Public (Flea and Farmers) Markets in the Public Market of the French Market District. The Public Markets are commercial enterprises involving several hundred tenants. They are a significant tourist attraction as well as a shopping area for residents, and a popular location for cultural events. The Market Manager will:
The Public Market is open 365 days a year. The Market Manager will have to be prepared to work weekends, holidays, and other non-standard hours to properly manage the Public Market.
Minimum Qualifications
Additional experience in merchandise management is preferred.
NOTE: These minimum qualifications are not negotiable; you must meet all the requirements as listed in the job posting.
Kind of Examination
A qualifying written examination and a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes, however credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
