The IT Systems Manager is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and security of the campus data network, servers, systems, and devices. The IT Systems Manager works in close partnership with the CFOO, Education technology, Director of Facilities, and Associate Head of School in planning and implementing technology that supports learning and day-to-day operations at FI.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and fine-tune a multi-year technology strategic plan around infrastructure and budget

• Manage network infrastructure (switches, routers, wireless controllers, etc.)

• Maintain hardware inventory database & helpdesk ticketing system

• Develop and maintain an effective backup, network security and disaster recovery plan

• Manage & supervise technical support staff and Database Administrator

• Administer Active Directory & G Suite domains

• Provide escalated support for desktops, chromebooks, printers, and other technology as needed

• Maintain and support telephone, voicemail and AV systems

• Purchase hardware & software based on decisions grounded on curriculum through collaboration with leadership and educational technology

• Creating and sustaining a cordial work environment to meet the needs of learning on a daily basis

• Co-collaborate on professional development and teaching and learning initiatives with the Director of Educational Technology

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Three years related experience in a Microsoft environment

• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO & System Center Configuration Manager experience

• Network design, implementation, and troubleshooting skills

• Experience developing/testing enterprise backup and disaster recovery plans

• Experience managing VMware, SQL Server, G Suite (Google apps and chromebooks)

• Ability to work in tight spaces, lift and carry up to 40 lbs, sufficient mobility to climb stairs, push a cart, and travel to classrooms across a spread out campus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a school environment and knowledge of the impact of technology in education

• Prior experience with Veracross;

• Ability to communicate in French, but not required.
