Freethink Media, Inc. is seeking a Writer to work with our partner, Stand Together, on sponsored articles. Stand Together invests in innovative solutions to the country’s biggest challenges. We collaborate with Stand Together to tell stories about changemakers in education, criminal justice, mental health, addiction, and more.

Freethink is a new media publisher telling stories from the frontiers of our rapidly changing world. We publish short-form videos covering innovators, entrepreneurs, and activists who are thinking differently and making a difference. We also publish articles covering technology, science, and important social issues. 

Our team is located all across America. Together, we’re building the kind of media company we all want to work for: curious, experimental, and ambitious.What you’ll do 

• Write - You will write articles as assigned to you by the Assistant Editor.
• Learn - While your job mostly will entail writing for Stand Together, we want you to learn and become comfortable with writing about other topics (that is, non-sponsored content) that are typically found on Big Think and Freethink.
• Collaborate - Part of the job may involve collaborating with the partnership services team as well as Stand Together on creating content. 
• Assist - Your job also will include performing other related duties assigned by the Assistant Editor or other members of the Editorial Team.

What you’ll need

• 5 years of experience in journalism with an ability to cover a wide range of topics
• Extreme, almost obsessive attention to detail
• Flexibility (this is not a typical 9-to-5 job)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, quickly growing startup and learn quickly
• Unparalleled verbal and especially written communication skills
• Love of our type of journalism — intelligent, thought-provoking, often uplifting, and the exact opposite of the cynicism and partisanship that drives mainstream media outlets
