Summary

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Directly supervise employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Train employees, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees. Participate in the hiring and firing decisions as required. Address complaints and resolve problems with employees.
• Plan, organize and direct Operations Department activities to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
• Study production schedules, estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment, and assign standby labor as necessary. Work with account executive to be sure their needs are met.
• Schedule area foreman and place labor calls.
• Schedule radios, scooters, scissor lifts, boom lifts, trailers, trucks, and forklifts as required.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assign duties as appropriate.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, or crew.
• Lead Operations employees in maintaining high morale and work standards and build teamwork among the department.
• Maintain time and production records.
• Estimate, requisition, and inspect all job related materials.
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Perform activities of workers supervised as needed.
• Prepare manpower requirements and ensure adequate coverage at all times. Schedule move-in and move-out time to eliminate as much overtime as possible.
• Ensure Operations staff complies with company policies and adhere to all safety guidelines.
• Maintain communication with the Account Executive and the Service Desk and advise of any problems that may affect their operation.
• Prepare initial accident reports in accordance with the Risk Management Manual.
• Ensure Operations equipment is well maintained and that housekeeping meets company standards.
• Submit final paperwork to the Operations Director including reports on employee performance, shop cooperation, and material usage of the show.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience
• Must have two (2) years show site freight, decorating and/or I&D experience
• Must have excellent working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• Carpentry skills required.
• Must have organizational and analytical skills
• Must be self-motivated with ability to lead
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
