SUMMARY OF POSITION:

We are a youth residential facility located in Greeneville, TN and our campus is comprised of several cottages, two administrative buildings and a private school. The Maintenance Technician is under the supervision of the Plant & Operations Manager and will work closely with them in maintaining a campus that is operational, clean and attractive for staff and visitors, and conducive to the normalcy and functioning of raising children. The Maintenance Technician has oversight and care of all buildings on our campus. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma

2. A minimum of 4 years' experience in construction, maintenance or other related field

3. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring and circuits

4. Additional technical training/certifications preferred

5. Familiarity with software for tracking maintenance activities

6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals

7. Ability to commute

8. Ability to climb, bend and lift heavy objects required

9. Valid driving license with no more than one driving infraction

10. Ability to use various tools and equipment

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Process maintenance requests submitted thru Net Facilities software in a timely manner

* Regular building and equipment inspections to identify and execute repairs

* Maintain accurate records of repairs and prepare reports for the Plant and Operations Director/Manager as requested

* Weekly conference to assess work orders, projects and planning

* Purchases for the department are made by the P&O Director/Manager.

* Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, heating, appliances, equipment and carpentry, including painting, cleaning and grounds-keeping work orders

* Report and assist on major repairs requiring outside contractors

* Propose new projects, programs or procedures and techniques to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of departmental services

* Maintain procedures necessary for the execution of projects and programs, including those necessary for interaction with other divisions of the agency

* Monitor projects to confirm they are on schedule, carried out and closed

* Perform monthly inspections of off campus housing and The Oaks Camp

* Perform monthly vehicle inspections and assist with maintenance/repair as needed

* Perform entrance and exit inspections for all residential and on –campus relief housing

* Work with the Manager of The Oaks Camp to maintain the facility

* Maintain compliance with all Fire, Safety and Health requirements for the agency

* Assist with inventory of all equipment, tools, supplies, etc.

* Perform minor repairs on furniture and household items, including moving/relocating

* Be onsite during all repairs/inspections as per established work schedules and planning
