Overview

As part of the Technology Services team at Free Market Health, the Manager of Data Engineering will be responsible for helping to guide a team that will implement, grow, and optimize our data intake process, data architecture, and data engineering strategies. As part of a growing team in a fast-paced start-up environment, we are looking for a proven leader that will contribute directly to key data architecture design and development decisions. This person should have the ability to manage a full data lifecycle, including data intake and conforming, data pipelining, architecting, and supporting analytic data models. The expectation is that this leader will manage a team directly responsible for data engineering and data architecture, supporting the needs of our internal analytic stakeholders and external client partners. They will collaborate cross functionally to understand enterprise priorities, document business requirements, and align appropriate resources to deliver data solutions that provide value for the business.

Specifics

The specific responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Lead a successful team that manages data architecture, data engineering, and supports analytics.
• Collaborate with technical leadership to implement and lead a successful data governance program.
• Technical ownership of data engineering strategy, translation of business requirements, and value delivery from our data.
• Collaborate within product development lifecycle, assuring data estate changes are captured and translated to downstream layers appropriately.
• Oversee data engineering workflow, prioritize work, ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency of data outputs.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience managing data and analytics solutions.
• Strong leadership skills, ability to manage a team and ensure efficient delivery of work.
• Data architecture experience, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining analytic data models.
• Experience overseeing data pipeline work from end to end.
• Experience managing data integrity / quality throughout the data transformation and delivery process.
• Keen ability to understand how data intersects with business value.
• Detail oriented approach to analytic product delivery to ensure solutions move the business forward.
• Experience with enterprise data engineering and BI tooling.
• Healthcare technology experience is preferred.
• Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively.
