Frazer and Jones is Hiring a 3rd Shift Grinding Machine Operator Near Syracuse, NY
Frazer and Jones currently have openings for Grinding Machine Operators adding in a 3rd shift for production. Working hours will be Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Grind shells as needed. 2. Inspects shells before loading onto machine for visible defects and scraps. 3. Separates scrap from quality material. 4. Gauge and wedge test material to meet quality standard for shipping. 5. Communicates to set up operator any issues with the running of the machine. 6. Empties hopper as directed by Supervisor. 7. Completes work center sheet daily. 8. Ensures a smooth transition for next shift and hopper is filled.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Language Skills: Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, simple drawings, procedure manuals and internal method sheets. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers and leadership.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Experience: 1 year in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Job Type: Full-time.
Salary: $18.07 - $20.76 per hour. $0.55 per hour differential for 3rd shift workers. Overtime is paid for more than 8 hours worked in a day and over 40 hours in a week.
