Job Description

The Safety manager will be responsible for creating, implementing, and auditing safety programs that are compliant with federal and state regulations. The role will work to identify and proactively address hazards and risks through risk assessments. Will collaboratively work with the branches and field teams to help align safety needs and serve as a mentor, educator and resource to all.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, operations, business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of safety management experience.
  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate work under the pressures of tight deadlines.
  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to constructively interact with all levels of the organization and external partners.
  • Proficient with Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing and develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules, including OSHA, DOT and other similar agencies.
  • Ensure that all departments comply with applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Facilitate safety inspections and audits at site and within vehicles to assess facility compliance with safety regulations.
  • Tracks and analyzes incident trends and communicates target specific recommendations for improved safety performance companywide.
  • Investigates all Worker’s Comp and Property and Casualty incidents from a safety perspective to determine root case and develop controls and countermeasures to help prevent recurrences.
  • Create and conduct safety related training sessions.
