Fiduciary Trust International, the HNW division of Franklin Templeton, is hiring a Retirements Associate / Relationship Associate (HNW Custody) to work in our St. Petersburg, FL location on a hybrid basis. The RA serves as a primary point of contact for clients' daily requests and is responsible for clients' satisfaction with the service level and client data integrity.The RA assists the department supervisor and manager in the general oversight of the department.

Primary Responsibility is Client Administration for Retirement Accounts:

The RA serves as subject matter expert for the organization regarding all retirement account policies, procedures, compliance, and IRS regulations.

  • Provide oversight of IRA policies & procedures
  • Review account opening contracts and required documents
  • Process account closings, transfer documents and coordinate outbound transfers
  • Validate instructions are received from an authorized party
  • Evaluate, initiate, and complete account maintenance
  • Responsible for completeness and integrity of client data on accounting platform
  • Assist Relationship & Portfolio Managers and/or Business Development Officers with various aspects of account administration
  • Review and approve annual administrative reviews
  • Process Charitable Contributions
  • Process IRA Contributions
  • Execute daily account administration activities, process clients' instructions, and follow through with involved parties
  • Process Required Minimum Distributions / IRA Withdrawals
  • Coordinate processing of tax withholding
  • Place trade orders on behalf of portfolio managers
  • Prepare fee adjustments letters and update fee events
  • Escalate daily client service-related questions/issues to his/her supervisor
  • Escalate potential service level issues to his/her Supervisor, Manager, and/or Portfolio Manager
  • Keep shared and personal calendars up to date
  • Cross-train and knowledge transfer of client specific procedures
  • Daily review of prior day work, investigate variances, follow through with required parties and escalate issues to his/her supervisor and/or Portfolio Manager when needed
  • Monitor daily cash overdrafts, escalating issues as appropriate to his/her supervisor and/or Portfolio Manager; apply cash receipts and wire transfers to cover overdrafts
  • Answer clients' tax questions

Additional Responsibilities include Client Management:

  • Understand client satisfaction levels, identify and solution client's recurring problems, escalate issues to his/her supervisor and/or Portfolio Manager
  • Communicate any retirement account legislation changes or updates to appropriate departments
  • Keep his/her Portfolio Manager and/or Supervisor informed on key, material and/or out-of pattern client instructions
  • Follow-up with his/her supervisor for guidance to resolve material administrative errors
  • Participate in client meetings at the discretion of Portfolio Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field or 7 years of relevant investment industry experience
  • Prior client relationship experience
  • Prior Retirement Services/IRA experience
  • Investment Operations and Investment Accounting knowledge preferred
  • Employee Benefits and/or Trust knowledge preferred
  • IRA and Defined Contribution knowledge and experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business desktop applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, etc.) required
  • Knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary and of generally accepted office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to represent the Company at professional and business functions in a competent manner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines
  • Ability to manage challenging external clients and special situations
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and adapt to changing workloads and deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to function effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical ability

Problem Solving and Decision Making:

  • Work is performed with minimal direction
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve issues in a timely manner within the department and company guidelines
  • Ability to anticipate service level issues and proactively escalate

Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At FTI, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $56,000 - $67,000.
