BASIC PURPOSE:

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the account's payables and general cashier functions at the hotel by ensuring invoices are processed on a timely basis and handling all the hotel deposits in accordance with Chartwell Hospitality Standards. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Hotel General Cashier

• Verify deposits of each cashier and document variances daily
• Document due back and issue in a timely manner
• Provide change to all bank holders as needed.
• Prepare bank deposits and change orders
• Maintain adequate inventory of cashier supplies including drop envelopes.
• House bank issuance and monthly audit

Account Payable

 * Process all approved invoices for payment -- ensure all appropriate signatures and back-up attached.

* Pay all hotel invoices in a timely manner- ensuring accuracy of amount paid, account coding, invoice extension and that all discounts are taken. 

* Handle all vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements. 

* Maintain open invoices file, paid invoices file and voided check file in an organized and up-to-date manner.

Job requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent verbal, comprehension, listening, and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented
• Well organized
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
