POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator of Student Engagement will be responsible for cultivating a dynamic, spirit-lead, and student-centered environment rooted in the Mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville, which develops a culture of encounter, conversion, and community.
The Center for Student Engagement strives to create welcoming and innovative opportunities for students to build connections and create community through meaningful involvement, personal development, and co-curricular learning within the broader Catholic and Franciscan University mission specifically through the oversight and supervision of EXCITE events planning team and Student Life Clubs and Organizations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the EXCITE team of student event leads to ensure the proper use of the student activity fee in a way that fosters encounter, conversion, and community.
Direct, plan, and manage student events & activities with EXCITE team.
Student Government, Switchboard, Household life.
Coordinates audio and fundraising for events as well as speaker and alcohol requests for events and submits fundraising, solicitation and vending request for the Vending committee and processes them upon approval;
Updates and maintains Campus information and Events on social media; REACH monitors, etc.
Assist the Associate Director of Student Engagement in establishing, leading, and managing new and existing programs and services targeting student engagement, including, but not limited to, New Student Orientation, Homecoming, senior week activities, and Baron Days.

REQUIREMENTS
Must understand, support, and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following :
Technical Skills
Proficiency or experience in web-based career services applications including AdAstra & REACH
Competencies (Non-Technical Skills)
Mission Leadership : Must understand, embrace, and live out the University's mission and possess the ability and willingness to articulate these principles and translate them into programs, policies, and decisions.
Must take specific steps to visibly witness and champion the University's values and inspire the expression of these values.
Motivating and Developing Others : Identify individual motivational drivers and leverage them to optimize performance and results.
Is effective at soliciting and using input from others to create buy-in. Help others continually reflect on their strengths, weaknesses, and development opportunities.
Is effective at using delegation, coaching and performance management to help others grow.
Written and Verbal Communication : Clearly and comfortably express one's views and thoughts to different listeners / audiences.
Know how to get and keep audience attention; and effectively handle questions and side bars. Present effectively in multiple settings : one-on-one, small / large groups, peers, staff, and leaders.
Know when to use written communications instead of verbal communications.
