The Workforce Development Board Liaison provides executive facilitation for the Workforce Development Board (WDB) in carrying out its governance duties under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). This role provides critical executive-level support to Board members and the WDB Executive Director, ensuring compliance, communication, duty alignment, and overall productivity.

The Maricopa County Workforce Development Board (MCWDB) represents various individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout the local area. This includes serving as a strategic convener to promote and broker effective relationships between the County, economic, education, and workforce partners. The MCWDB maintains strategic and robust relationships with business organizations, chambers of commerce, labor and trade associations, and education providers. Also, the Board promotes effective outcomes consistent with statewide goals and objectives and negotiates local performance.

We Require
Two years of executive assistant or board-related experience
Associate degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field
An equivalent combination of education and/or related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
We Also Value
Experience with government-appointed boards
Experience working in WIOA programs
Job Contributions
Provide complex administrative assistance, including meeting minutes, agendas, transcripts, document maintenance, correspondence, and records of all WDB proceedings
Attend all WDB, committee, and workgroup meetings and facilitate activities outside of regular board meetings to aid in the work and responsibilities of the BoardSupports Committee Chairs and Workgroup Leads in the development of the local plan, program oversight, performance accountability, operator selection, and budget
Develop and conduct orientation programming for new board members as well as ongoing board member education. This includes the provision of WIOA background information and interpretation, regional labor market analysis, employer engagement initiatives, career pathway development, and coordination with education providers
Serve as a link between the Board and its constituents (public, staff, and partners) to explain federal, State, and local policies and procedures, as well as answer questions related to WIOA and Maricopa County
Interface with the Maricopa County Clerk of the Board and any other necessary entities
Conduct special projects, research, and other duties as required by the Workforce Development Board and Executive Director
Create, update, and maintain content for the WDB webpage
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office environment, requiring extended periods of sitting, reading, and typing
May be required to travel to program sites and for occasional training and conferences
Must secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card upon hire
