Job Description Summary The Health Simulation Technician will be responsible for maintaining policy and procedure manuals and developing data collection and management procedures. The position will also be responsible for researching, coordinating, and maintaining technology in virtual reality, artificial intelligence, human patient simulation, and course delivery technologies. Flexibility in work schedule. Job Description ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop a mission statement, goals, and governance structure for the FVTC Health Simulation & Technology Center. Develop and maintain data collection and management system to ensure student satisfaction of the simulation experience. Prepare accreditation materials and ensure compliance with Simulation Center Accreditation. Participate in all aspects of simulation including operation and maintenance of simulators. Maintain simulation lab, proper usage, and full functionality of simulation equipment. Maintain expertise in existing and emerging simulation technologies, best practices and disseminates this base of knowledge to faculty and students. Support and work with faculty, college simulation trainers and programs to develop and present scenarios to students. Determine equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs or arrange repairs either with other College technicians or with simulation equipment manufacturers. Assist with schedules for simulation room/debriefing room and track simulation lab usage data. Liaison for simulation space requests by faculty, students, and outside agencies. Create instructional aides and signs to assist patrons in the use of equipment. Orient new faculty/students/staff to simulators and simulation lab policies and procedures; develop and enforce simulation lab policies and procedures. Assist with developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and protocols for simulation in collaboration with Dean, Associate Dean, supervisors, simulation trainer and faculty. Facilitate inter-disciplinary educational opportunities between program students utilizing simulation spaces. Maintain warranty information and renewal dates on all simulation equipment, schedule routine maintenance for simulation products. Attend, assist with, and participate in college, division, and department meetings and events relevant to position. SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS Assist students and faculty with simulation and technology access for skill and competency development. Assist with simulation delivery during complex simulation scenarios or during training sessions for new faculty and or simulation operators. Assist with business and industry contract development, space rental, and resource attainment for contracted courses within the simulation center. Provide tours and/or demonstrations for health division events, partnering agencies, and business and industry inquiries. Works with IT and other support services to ensure division compliance and support in complimentary support services. Support college wide simulation and technology advancements by partnering with other divisions and departments. QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Associate Degree in Health Science, Biomedical Technology or IT field is required; bachelor's degree preferred, AND/OR. IT applicants should have two years of healthcare related experience or experience in healthcare or educational setting. Health Science applicants should have two years of relevant related technology or IT experience. An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience. Simulation Technician Certification and/or willingness to obtain appropriate certifications. ESSENTIAL APTITUDES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS Demonstrate ethical conduct in all aspects of the work environment. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to maintain an excellent working relationship with internal and external customers. Excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as good listening skills. Ability to identify needed action without continual direction. Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure. Neatness in work and appearance. Demonstrate a positive attitude, maturity, initiative and integrity with a professional image contributing to the success of the college. Work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work with diverse student, staff, and community populations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Accept responsibility for professional growth. Dependable, punctual, and commitment to following through on tasks. Flexibility in work schedule is required. Additional Information Starting pay: $25.00 per hour.
