Job Description Summary
This position is shared: FVTC Foundation Inc., 25% (F); FVTC Community Relations, 75% (CR)
This position is responsible for the successful administration of the FVTC Student Scholarship Program, including direction, planning, delivery and growth. It supports the Development Director in maintaining and growing a robust scholarship program by building and fostering meaningful relationships with scholarship donors. In support of both the Foundation and the College, this role helps by cultivating and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders throughout our district community.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Manage the FVTC Student Scholarship Program for currently enrolled FVTC students and incoming high school seniors; oversee pass-through scholarships process.
  • Manage and maintain up to date information on available scholarship funds within Award Management. (CR)
  • Manage the selection of recipients of scholarships designated to currently enrolled FVTC students and high school seniors pursuing their education at FVTC. (CR)
  • Manage effective communication with key donors and foundations to ensure appropriate candidate pools that meets the needs of our partners. (CR)
  • Manage special-application scholarships administered by the Foundation and the communications that follow. (CR)
  • Meet and work with current donors to add or update current fund criteria. (F)
  • Serve as contact for donors, staff, and students with questions in regards to scholarships. (F)
  • Serve as technical support of Award Management scholarship software, including updates and maintenance/troubleshooting of online application, references, reviewing and donor information. (CR)
  • Primary contact with FVTC IT department and Award Management to ensure that all aspects of the application process is running smoothly and propose proper modifications as needed. (CR)
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with information in Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, and PeopleSoft, which may include collaborating with functional users, IT, and Blackbaud. (F/CR)
  • Manage and maintain up to date information on available scholarship funds within Award Management. (CR)
  • Serve as program and activity fund manager by approving, making use of, and maintaining available funds. (CR)
  • Facilitate with the Communications & Annual Giving Manager to renew spendable scholarships on a yearly basis. (CR)
  • Work with team to identify and write grants for scholarship or student assistance. (F/CR)
  • Partner with the Foundation & Community Relations management team to establish strategies, annual plans, and objectives; and provide leadership to the ongoing operations of the team. (F/CR)
  • Serve as an FVTC representative to the WTCS Foundation Leaders Annual Meeting. (CR)
  • Attend meetings and events as requested by Executive Director. (F/CR)
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Engage in and support the delivery of all responsibilities of the Foundation and Community Relations Team and its mission of service and support for students and innovative programming for the College.
  • Provide support for various fundraising efforts, such as annual Staff Giving campaign and FVTC Foundation Golf Outing.
QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, communications, nonprofit management or related area, AND
  • Five years of related experience, OR
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Background working in a non-profit financial support role focused on the development and strengthening of donor relations and/ or fundraising is preferred.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Award Management or other scholarship administration software is preferred.
