Fox Theatre is Hiring a VOLUNTEER USHER COORDINATOR | GUEST EXPERIENCE | FULL TIME Near Atlanta, GA

The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Volunteer Usher Coordinator.

The Volunteer Usher Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the Fox Theatre Volunteer Usher Program, including serving as the liaison between Volunteer Ushers and the Guest Experience Department. This position will also execute the recruitment, training, communication, and day-to-day support of the Volunteer Ushers.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Fox Theatre Volunteer Usher Program. Maintain the oversight and continuous development of the database of active Volunteer Ushers. Manage all Volunteer Usher event registrations through online personnel management software. Provide supplemental support to the Guest Experience Event Coordinator to ensure all event staffing levels are met.
  • Process all new Volunteer Usher applications, and plan and execute the recruitment, selection, and onboarding training for all new Volunteer Ushers. Facilitate Annual Volunteer Usher Training for all current, active Volunteer Ushers. Ensure consistent updates to department manuals and training materials based on evolving Guest Experience procedures and protocols.
  • Compile Volunteer Usher hours, collect impact data, and assist with reports, newsletters, and rewards and recognition programs. Execute rewards and recognition programs for Event Staff and Volunteer Ushers pre-, during, and post-events.
  • Maintain regular communication with all active Volunteer Ushers including providing timely and professional responses to all incoming correspondence, via online personnel management software, e-mail, phone, text, etc.
  • Support the Guest Experience Manager with the creation of event documentation, or event planning and execution where necessary, as it supports the Volunteer Ushers or the rest of the Guest Experience Department, including department training, or other administrative support.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

  • Highly detail-oriented and organized; must be able to time manage, multi-task, and oversee several projects and tasks at once.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective communicator and creative thinker, with the ability to think big and implement a vision.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous and changing environments with little direction.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Resolution Oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace.
  • Goal-Setting and Achievement Planning.

Education & Additional Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 Years of Volunteer Administration, Non-Profit Management, Venue Management, Guest Services, Hospitality, or related field.
  • Experience in a Leadership or Supervisory Role.

Education Preferred & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with VolunteerHub or similar personnel/volunteer management software.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar Customer Relation Management (CRM) software.

Physical & Special Requirements:

  • Almost continuously sitting in the same position or moving about.
  • Occasionally required to lift materials or equipment, some of which is moderately heavy or awkward.
  • Some duties of this position can be performed remotely; however, other duties require presence on-site and employee must be able to report to site as required during their scheduled hours and obligations.

The Marquee Club Presented by Lexus is the Fox Theatre’s premium club space open to Club Level seat holders or annual Members only. Adjacent to the theatre, the Moroccan and Middle Eastern-style club is 10,000 square feet of luxury space that includes five premium bars; and three rooftop environments, including the climate-controlled Conservatory, patio-covered Arcade Terrace, and outdoor Rooftop Terrace.
