Foundations for Living is Hiring a Food Service Specialist/Dietary Near Mansfield, OH

Responsibilities:
The Food Services Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and serving of meals to at-risk youth residing in a residential treatment facility. This Full-time position requires working 3 days a week, 11:00am to 7:30pm. The Food Services Specialist will collaborate with the Dietary Manager to ensure that meals are prepared and served in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare and serve meals for at-risk youth in the residential treatment facility
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Manage inventory and food ordering
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Work with management to create a menu that meets the dietary needs of the residents
  • Manage food storage and disposal according to regulations
  • Monitor food service to ensure quality, and report any problems or issues to management
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in food service or related field
  • Knowledge of food preparation, nutrition and food safety practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions: This position will work 3 days a week in a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth. The working conditions will include working in a commercial kitchen environment, and the ability to work with youth with a variety of behavioral and emotional needs. This position may be required to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
ServSafe certification would be a plus for the Part-Time Food Services Specialist position. Candidates who have this certification will be preferred. However, if the selected candidate does not have the certification, the company will provide training and pay for the candidate to obtain the certification within a reasonable time frame. This ensures that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to handle food safety in compliance with the industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management is required.

MBA or Master’s in Human Resources Management preferred.

Minimum of 5 years experience in Human Resources required.

SPHR, PHR preferred.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Special Skills/Ability
Ability to type. Working knowledge of personal computers, electronic data processing equipment, and related spreadsheet and word processing software and applications. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Effective organizational and negotiating skills.

  • Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


  • Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to clients who may ask inappropriate personal questions, display socially unacceptable personal behaviors, use profanity and sexually explicit phrases, make insulting remarks or threats regarding appearance, age, sex, or race, exhibit defiance, dishonesty, and assaultive or self-destructive behaviors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
